Light Orb
One of the many spells that is featured within my senior thesis, Intrepid, that will be completed in May 2017. This is a spell that conjures light. All magic within this world is summoned from runes. I designed the look of the orb and created and composited it within After Effects. Intrepid won best VFX at the LA Shorts Awards.
Phantom Reveal
The Phantom is a creature I created for my thesis film, Intrepid. I used FumeFx to encase a model I made in smoke, giving them a uncertain and unsettling shape. Also pictured is a light orb I created completely within After Effects. Intrepid won best VFX at the LA Shorts Awards.
Fire Magic
Fire spell completed for my senior thesis at Chapman University. Magic is conjured through the use of runes, which in the case of fire, stays as a power source in the middle of the spell. I designed the magic, simulated the fire using FumeFX and composited it to the live action footage. Intrepid won best VFX at the LA Shorts Awards.
A freelance project completed for the Chapman TV Pilots program. I was tasked with creating a live stream layout for the character's cooking blog. Completed with Photoshop and After Effects. Intrepid won best VFX at the LA Shorts Awards.
Recipes for Disaster
A scene from Intrepid where I had to create numerous magical effects to be on display. Almost all were created either solely in After Effects except for the floating book which was created within Maya. Intrepid won best VFX at the LA Shorts Awards.
